Riding the Rapids

Hi Guys!

As promised we have got the leaflet and additional information for Riding the Rapids.

Riding the Rapids is a free course for parents and carers of children who have a diagnosis of Autism, severe learning disabilities or complex physical disabilities. The course aims to help parents to understand and manage challenging behaviour shown by their child.

Each weekly session covers a different aspect of understanding and managing the behaviour of children with Autism or another disability. Parents and carers start the course by deciding on a target behaviour they would like to change, and then putting together a plan to tackle it using a variety of strategies.

The courses are facilitated by professionals from the Clinical Service for Children with Disabilities. The service is made up of Clinical Psychologists and Nurses with specialist training and experience with children with disabilities.

That is just a little bit of information on this fantastic service. I have attached the leaflet for you to have a proper look at if you’re interested.

If you have any additional questions, let us know and we will do our best to get the correct information over to you.

All our love and admiration,

Parent 2 Parent,

Vicky, Dave and Sophie.
